Fees & Insurance
A referral from your family physician is necessary if you would like to receive reimbursement. The fees for psychological help are regulated by the NZA which is the Dutch Health Care Authority.
For healthcare psychologists the fee for a 45 minutes consultation is € 142,29. Please see for detailed information the NZA page about ggz tariffs.
Relationship Therapy and treatment of work related complaints has been taken out of the insurance package. The fee for these treatments is called the OZP fee which is € 125 for 45 minutes.
The fee for clients who want to pay privately outside the insurance companies is € 110.
Sessions must be cancelled 24 hours in advance. Otherwise the fee of the missed session will be charged.
International Insurance companies like CIGNA, AON and MSH will usually reimburse psychological help for 100%, but it is always advisable to check directly with your health care provider first. As I have decided not to sign contracts with Dutch insurance companies in order to stay as independent as possible from interests other than professional ones, you will receive 75 % to 85 % reimbursement from Dutch insurances. It is always important to contact your insurance company first and to ask directly how much reimbursement you will receive for treatment from a BIG registered GZ psychologist who has no contracts. There is also always an own risk payment of € 385 per year. This payment includes all costs made for health care.
